Jay-Z’s NBA 2K13 Role Loosely Defined, Includes Soundtrack Selection
< id='article_intro_ag'>You might have heard that Jay-Z is serving in an executive producer role on 2K Sports and Visual Concepts’ upcoming NBA 2K13, but now there’s some explanation as to what that actually means. Describing the hip-hop mogul’s role as a loosely defined one, 2K Sports’ VP of marketing Jason Argent explained that players ought to notice a difference in the October 2, 2012 release "from the moment you put the disc in the console" in an interview with Polygon. While Argent didn’t get into specifics on the gameplay and presentation side of things, he did reveal that one of Jay-Z’s contributions involved helping to build the game’s 24-song soundtrack. Naturally. One thing you won’t see, however, is any reference in the game to Jay-Z’s part ownership of the Brooklyn Nets. There are still plenty of questions about how Jay-Z’s involvement will impact NBA 2K12, Visual Concepts does killer work already. Adding the hip-hop superstar’s sense of style to the mix ought to result in some good things.
